Oh Skinny Jeans, How I envy those that wear you

Seriously, I have gone through no less than 3 pairs of skinny jeans and I am yet to find a pair that does not make me look like I am wearing a pair of jeans I owned in the early 90's.  You all know what I'm talking about that horrifying "tapered leg" look that can in fact happen in skinnies.

And the worst part is, I love the look, honest to god I do. Why can't I look like this ..........

Easy Skillet Lemon Chicken

This dish was easy, tasty, and best of all, make-able!  Let's be honest, my cooking skills are limited, as in boiling water, 5 ingredients or less kind of cooking.

Here it is cooking:

You will need:

2 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper
2 tbsp Garlic
1/2 cup Onion
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 lemons
1 lb Chicken Breast

I combined the olive oil, salt and pepper, garlic and onion in the pan over medium heat and let the garlic brown.  Then I added the soy sauce, gave it a good stir, and placed the chicken breast on top of the bubbling sauce.  I like to salt and pepper the chicken, then add slices of lemon on top of each chicken breast.  Reduce the heat, cover, let the chicken cook through, and voila!!!!!  This is the final result:

Capriccio Delicious-ness

All things Providence

Well what can I say about this amazing restaurant that hasn't already been said?  Let me start with zomygod.  Capriccio is ah-maz-ing.  Really it is that good.  Let's start here: if you haven't gone yet, make a reservation - now.  Like right now.

My fabulous husband took me here to celebrate my 30th birthday.  Not only was the food completely amazing, but each and every aspect was handled in the most detail oriented way possible.

Let me give you an example.  I hate (detest actually) the thought of people singing to me in a restaurant.  The online reservation system prompts you to enter any special ocassions, and husband wrote in the comment section that we were celebrating a birthday, would love a nice quiet table somewhere and no celebration was necessary.  Well cudos to Capriccio for LISTENING! We had a great table, a great waiter and a beautiful birthday cake delivered after dinner with no pomp and circumstance whatsoever.  Our waiter dropped off the cake, said happy birthday and left us in peace.  That act alone and they won my heart forever.

Ok on to the part that matters, the food because that is what we all came here for.   I may have trouble describing the food, it's that good.  The lobster ravioli, minestrone soup, each course was loving served and tasted amazing.  You can tell that a lot of thought and care goes into each dish coming out of that kitchen, the chefs are proud to serve such amazing quality dishes and let me tell you I am happy to eat it.

Here is a photo of my main course:

Have you made a reservation yet?!

Inspiration in a size 8 shoe

I feel it appropriate that my first post on this blog actually be about the pair of shoes that inspired it's name.  I should preface this whole thing with the fact that I love stuff.  Lots of stuff, not like junk in my house kind of stuff, but clothes and shoes and accessories stuff.  I have so much, and yet, I simply cannot stop myself.  UPS shows up at my house three times a week, I am certain the neighbors think we are having an affair.  What can I say?, there is just something so.... satisfying about ripping open a new box full of fabulous looking and overpriced goodies.  You all know what I'm talking about, that moment when you rip something out of the plastic and fall in love.

Well that's exactly what happened with my brand spanking new Kate Spade Charm Sandals.  The moment I saw them I felt the love that women feel for their children when they are just born and gooey and the Doctor hands them over.  At least I'm pretty sure that's what I felt, I don't have kids so that's as close as I'm probably coming to that magical moment.  And in case you don't know what I'm talking about, here is a picture of them

Gorgeous no?!
