Think PInk

Pink is such a great color, happy, bright, soft light, and it comes in enough shades to look amazing on everyone! (I swear).  Today's look is a Tweed No. 2 Pencil skirt from JCrew (similar here), a peplum top from Ann Taylor (similar here), a Jackie Cardi from JCrew (exact here), and a statement necklace.  Bring on those brights and have a great day everyone!

How I Wore It: Knee high boots, Tweed, and the Ann Taylor Keyhold Peplum Shell

I LOVE me some knee high boots, but I am always afraid of what they actually look like on me, and how the office environment will accept them.  The funny thing is I see women in knee boots of all kinds (heeled, pointed toe, flat, riding boots) in my office (and many others) every day.  And they always look amazing.  Me, I feel like the second I put them on I look a little "street walker".

But I couldn't keep these in my closet in their box anymore damnit!  I wanted to wear my boots!!!  So I figured I would pair my knee high, camel leather, pointy toe boots with JCrew tweed.  Because Tweed makes everything classier right?!

Ann Taylor pocketed cowl neck sweater

You might remember my "great sweater" post from the other day, as promised I'm reviewing as they arrive so here you go!

I purchased the Ann Taylor Pocketed Cowl Neck sweater in "sun deck", to start I LOVE this color it's a really nice light brown that went well with both my cognac riding boots and a pair of chocolate brown booties.

The fabric is great, it has a great fit - boxy without being baggy and still manages to hug you properly!, I am a huge fan of the length (hemmed and the sleeves), and the cowl is a great cozy cowl without being huge and overpowering!  I got this in an XS and feel like it fits true to size.

Overall, this is a win for me!!

The Great Sweater

I usually don't discriminate when it comes to buying myself new things.  I also tend to hone in on something that I "NEED" (i.e. don't really need at all, but somehow have gotten it into my head that I clearly don't have a high enough volume of an item to sustain me through a season.)

This past couple of weeks it has been sweaters.  Maybe it's because my office is cold, maybe it's because I haven't even bothered to unpack my winter clothes from last year and it looks like I don't have many sweaters, or maybe it's just because this seasons smattering of sweaters is freakin adorable.

In any case, here are some of my recent favorites for your viewing pleasure!!

JCrew Bling Cardigan (on sale for $59.50)

JCrew Tippi in Stripe (on sale for $79.50)

JCrew Buttoned Boat Neck (on sale for $59.50)

Ann Taylor Pocketed Cowl Neck $88

Ann Taylor Merino V-Neck $78 (I got mine in Berry)

Ann Taylor Merino Cardigan $78

Neither of these two would transfer well in photos sorry!

Be on the lookout for reviews of all the above in the near future!

Accessories edition

If you are anything like me accessories are the bane of your existence.  I amost never have any idea what I am doing when it comes to doning myself with belts, scarves, earrings, necklaces..... ok well scarves are easy as long as I'm keeping it simple and just wrapping one around my neck.

One of the things that I will consider my "goal" over the next few months is to experiment with accessories a little more.  Hopefully if you stay tuned to my new "How I wore it" section, you will see a few accessories sneak their way in!

Some of the pieces I am on the war path to add to my current wardobe, in no particular order are

Hot Pink Skinny Belt

This one is from Ann Taylor and weighs in at $30.  Neons are huge this spring, and I figured a belt is a) a good accessory and b) a great way to add neon without going overboard.

A Blue Skinny Belt - This one is from Old Navy and is about $13

A Wide Stripe Belt, This one is from Ann Taylor Loft and is about $38.

And Finally, I found a Turquoise necklace today on Amazon for $53 that I think will make an appearance in my jewelry box, because I am in LOVE with it!!!
