Linen Pullover Sweater

It's no secret that the weather hasn't exactly been spectacular lately so a linen sweater made sense when I was out and about shopping this weekend.  I've been spying this sweater on Banana Republic's website for a little while and decided to give it a try while in the store and I'm so glad I did!  This is a nice, light and airy sweater with just a little texture to make it interesting.  Ribbed Linen Pullover - Banana Republic   Because everything was 40% off this weekend, I also picked up this super cute white flower statement necklace.  White Floral Statement Necklace - Banana Republic

I paired this sweater with Paige Skinny jeans and wedges for a casual weekend look, and with black cropped JCrew pants and my LK Bennett wedges for work.  Either way, the sweater is great!

Memorial Day Weekend: Honor, BBQ's, and Sales

Memorial Day weekend is a full weekend to fully appreciate our service members, those who voluntarily step up to protect people they don't know, and who will probably never have the chance to thank them for all they do for us.  And of course, this being America, retailers utilize the holiday weekend to promote sales on all sorts of everything.  I do my fair share of reflection, thanks, and economy stimulation over holiday weekends, and this is no exception.  Below are the goodies I picked up over the weekend!

Manolo Blahnik BB Pumps $387 Nordstrom / $465 Saks

Jimmy Choo Marcia Sandal $450 Nordstrom
Valentino Bow Pump $504

JCrew Sleeveless Drapey Cove Top
JCrew Factory Circle Neck Dress
JCrew Pink Geo Shirtdress

I also picked up a few basics like my beloved Jackie Cardigan from JCrew, a few house items, and a pair of pumps from JCrew.  I'll do full reviews when I receive everything from my favorite UPS guy!!

Short and Sweet

I bought this skirt from Banana Republic recently (here), and spent about a week trying to wear it to work.  Between client meetings, casual Fridays, parties at Fenway Park and everything else I FINALLY had a chance to put it on!!  I paired this really well fitting skirt with a teal JCrew Factory button down, Banana Republic statement necklace, Belt and Kate Spade Lana pumps.

JCrew Floral Photo Dress

I.love.this.dress.  I always love JCrew, but sometimes there is a piece that just really makes you love them love them.  This Floral Photo Dress is very well made, bright, has great texture and a great pattern.  The fit on the dress is perfect and the fit and flare style is really cute.  Even better, the fabric is nice and thick and it allows the flare to stick out at just the right angles.  Another little fun aspect - this dress has pockets.  I paired mine with a blue Jackie Cardigan, my Ann Taylor Statement necklace and my nude Louboutin pumps.

Keeping it Business Casual

So seersucker doesn't photograph well.  Who knew?  I live in Pencil skirts in my business casual workplace, but sometimes I like to punch things up with patterns and textures.  This seersucker skirt is a couple years old from JCrew, Top Zara, Blazer Zara, Necklace from Piperlime, and shoes are my trusty Louboutins.

Black & White

When the weather starts to transition I start looking for pieces that are lightweight but offer some coverage and some style.  This JCrew top is from this winter, but they always have something similar on the website (swiss dot tops, or long sleeved silk blouses).  I love the little details on this top, and paired with the JCrew statement necklace, Paige Jimmy Jimmy Boyfriend Skinnies and my LK Bennett wedges I feel pretty happy with this outfit!

Spring Things

I'm a big believer in buying an entirely new wardrobe picking up a few new things at the beginning of a new season.  I always feel like it just such a nice little pick me up and a great way to transition your whole wardrobe into something functional.  Here are some of my favorite spring pieces. I've already picked a few of these things up and I can't wait to share them with you in future posts!

Keeping it Casual

It is finally warm enough to go without a coat!! I'm sure that will change later in the week but hey, I'll celebrate it while I can!  I picked this top up a Zara (here) and I really love it, it's soft, lightweight, and easy to wear, I would also do this top with leggings but I thought it looked really cute with my Piage Jimmy Jimmy's and white Kate Spade pumps!  Have a great day everyone!

Monochromatic Blues

I really love mixing shades of color within the same color family, there is something very clean yet edge-y about it all at the same time.  AND if you will all notice - no tights!!!!! That's right my friends it's FINALLY warm enough here to let the legs go bare (they were very happy).  Skirt Halogen via Nordstrom (here), Top Zara (here), Cardigan JCrew (here), Necklace Banana Republic. Have a great day everyone!

Tweed

I love tweed. This dress has a great tweed pattern and a nice shape, dresses like this make it really easy to look professional and still have a little bit of style shine through!  Dress, Cardigan and Necklace are all JCrew, shoes are L.K. Bennett.  Have a great day everyone!

Pink and Yellow

I usually try to err towards the side of Pencil skirts and longer dresses for work in my business casual workplace, but since I knew I wasn't going to be in front of any clients, I threw on a skirt a little shorter than I'm normally ok with for work.  I picked up this skirt at Banana Republic (similar here) and paired it with a mustard yellow cardigan and sleeveless ivory blouse (both via Nordstrom).  I really wanted to wear my new Kate Spade lana pumps (same here), so I also threw on a belt in a matching color to bring the whole thing together.
